Free Sketchup Models – a High Quality Furniture Collection

The Trimble Sketchup 3D Warehouse showcases thousands of free Sketchup models available for download and is an invaluable resource for Sketchup users of of all abilities. However, finding the right component for use in your own Sketchup model can be laborious as the quality of free models ranges wildly. With that in mind, Studio 425 have created the Designer Furniture collection, a high quality collection of designer furniture pieces, ready for download and ideal for use in design models and animations.

The models are all based on official model releases by high-end furniture designers such as Vitra and Tom Dixon. The free models have been optimised for use in Sketchup, removing unnecessary detail such as the adjustment levers below the seat of Vitra's ID Concept office chair or some of the cable management below desk level on Vitra's Joyn desk system.

All the models are presented in mm and have had their scale preserved from the manufacturers' specification. Root geometry is coloured 'Default', with a limited range of materials applied at component level. The collection is basically Sketchup models as we like to use them at Studio 425. File sizes are kept as low as possible, whilst maintaining detail on visible geometry. This makes the Sketchup models ideal for use in 3D walkthroughs, perspective views and Step Inside Immersive Floor Plans.
