Changing Place at Apps Court Farm seeks Letters of Support

MAA Architects have submitted plans to provide a Changing Place at Apps Court Farm in Surrey and are seeking letters of support.

UPDATE - The consultation period for the application has now closed. Unfortunately, Elmbridge refused the application, which is currently subject to an appeal. We'd like to thank everyone who kindly wrote to Elmbridge in support. - UPDATE

The scheme for ‘Building 6’ will provide a new reception area including a Changing Place for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Apps Court Farm is home to leisure activities such as archery, quad biking, angling and dog agility training, as well as large, popular events such as car boot sales and park and ride for the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

The Changing Place will make the site accessible to the 40,000 people in the UK who are unable to use typical wheelchair accessible WCs.

You can help their application by writing to Elmbridge Borough Council in support of the application for planning permission. Simply copy the text below into an email to tplan@elmbridge.gov.uk to show your support;

FAO Rob Ellis, RE: application 2011/5563

Dear Mr. Ellis,

I would like to register my support for Apps Court Farm’s application for Building 6, which includes a Changing Place WC. The provision of a Changing Place on site would dramatically improve the accessibility of the site to the 40,000 people in the UK who are unable to use typical wheelchair accessible WCs due to profound and multiple learning disabilities.

The proposed Changing Place at Apps Court Farm will be a real asset to both the borough and the South East region, opening up access for leisure and tourism to the local community and beyond.

Yours sincerely
